CARDS is Cumbria Asbestos Related Disease Support

We are a local charitable organisation set up in 2005 (originally as BARDS – Barrow Asbestos-Related Disease Support) to provide free help and advice to anyone with an asbestos-related disease.

Open meetings are held in Barrow every month. Find out about our meetings here.

At every meeting, experts in benefits, legal and healthcare matters are available to give free no-obligation advice. If you need to establish whether or not you may be eligible for additional benefits and/or financial compensation you are welcome to attend any meeting and discuss your situation with our benefits advisor and/or the CARDS duty solicitor. Alternatively you can contact us by email.

In this film Dr Helen Clayson speaks about CARDS and four local people recount their own experiences of asbestos-related diseases.
